ALBUM RELEASE DATES
It's been over a year in the making, so we are extremely pleased to announce the release of our debut album! Entitled Passion Before Function, the ten-track disc was recorded at Headgear Studios in Brooklyn, NY with producer Bill Racine. The album will initially be released in Japan by Fabtone Records on July 18th, with the US release to follow on September 25th. The first single, "All Together Now," is already available for download on iTunes, in addition to streaming on our MySpace page. The Japanese release can be pre-ordered at online outlets including amazon.com, while pre-orders for the US version will be available right here later this month.

DREW GOREN MEMORIAL BENEFIT
On June 30th, musicians from all over New York City will share the stage to commemorate the life of Drew Goren, a gifted photographer, friend, and father who tragically lost his life to cancer late last year. The lineup for the night inlcudes country-folk troubadour Langhorne Slim, local supergroup Neckbeard Telecaster (featuring members of Dirty on Purpose, the Jealous Girlfriends, and others), The GoStation, Sikamor Rooney, The Wooden Hills, and The Shrubs. All proceeds raised from this evening will be donated directly to the Drew Goren Memorial Fund, established to help Drew's young daughter, Nina. Advance tickets are available at ticketweb.com.

BEYOND THE VERGE
Our trip to Boston for the Verge Conference couldn't have gone better. OurStage.com, who presented our showcase, have posted a video interview with the band that features some great live footage from the show, as well as info on our album. There's also a Verge wrap-up on the site with some more exclusive live shots of the band, and TheyWillRockYou.com is featuring a full photo gallery from the night.

THEY WILL ROCK YOU
The music obsessives over at TheyWillRockYou.com have chosen The GoStation as their Spotlight Band of the Week for the week of April 15, 2007. Check out their exclusive interview for more details on the upcoming album, the real story behind the group's name, new insight into the inner workings of the band, and the meaning (or lack thereof) of "post-Britpop."

THE VERGE CONFERENCE
On April 21, The GoStation will be one of the featured acts at the OurStage.com showcase during the 2007 Verge Music Conference in Boston. The band was selected after its upcoming single "Not Enough" made it to the No. 2 position on the OurStage rock chart in March. The GoStation's performance takes place at Bill's Bar on Landsdowne Street on the closing night of the conference. Afterwards, we'll be heading back to NYC for a show at Crash Mansion on April 27, and to finish work on our debut album, due out this summer!

SXSW WRAP-UP
As always, it was a whirlwind week in Austin, Texas during SXSW. There were many highs to our trip, with the only major low being the flight cancellations that led to our unplanned 36-hour drive halfway across the country in a rented car. That was fun. During the festival, while everyone else overdosed on music and general revelry down south, Matt somehow found the strength to keep a daily blog about some of our adventures. Just click here for the full wrap-up. We'll have more updates once we've finally fully recovered, but for now you can also see some photos from our Austin show here.

FIRST BOSTON, THEN AUSTIN
While we work towards our album release this summer, we have some great shows planned for the coming months. After our first performance at the all-new Luna Lounge in Williamsburg on Feb. 24, we'll be off to Boston, where we're playing at Northeastern University on March 1. This show is free to all students — and to anyone else who emails us to get on the guest list. Next up, The GoStation heads to Austin, Texas for SXSW, where we'll be playing a huge party sponsored by Mozilla on March 12. More details on that can be found here.

NEW PHOTO GALLERIES
There are two new galleries posted on our photos page, both of which are from our Jan. 27, 2007 show at Sin-e. Thanks to Jonny Leather for doing such a fantastic job of documenting the evening, and to Underrated Magazine for putting together another amazing night of music. With Sin-e set to close in the coming months, we couldn't think of a better way to see it off than by playing to a packed house on a bill with great acts like White Rabbits, Sure Juror, Liam & Me and Seth Kallen. If you didn't make it out, see what you missed.

THE DREW GOREN MEMORIAL FUND
We're sad to announce the loss of a good friend, Drew Goren. Drew, a very gifted and talented photographer, passed away on Dec. 19 after a long battle against cancer. He left behind a five-year-old daughter, Nina, and she and her mother need all the support they can get now. A memorial fund has been set up in Drew's name, and we'd like to ask anyone who can possibly help to donate to it. For more information and a secure donation link, visit Drew's memorial website. (Be sure to specify that your donation is for the "Drew Goren Memorial Fund" on the donation form.) You can also check out some of the fantastic work he did at his own photo site.

ALBUM SESSIONS, PART DEUX
On December 9, The GoStation is returning to the studio to finish tracking for our debut album, tentatively titled Passion Before Function. We'll be back at Headgear Studios in Williamsburg with Bill Racine, laying down the final five songs for the record. These are set to include brand new versions of "C'mon" and "The Way of the World," along with new songs "Down Street" and "Common Ground," plus "Next In Line" (originally planned for the last sessions, but this time for real). Look for updates and previews of the new tracks in the coming weeks, and get ready for the album release in 2007!

NEW YORK PRESS ROCK OFF!
The GoStation has been selected from over 1,000 entries as a finalist in the New York Press/New Line Cinema Rock Off! The event takes place on Nov. 13 at Avalon in NYC, celebrating the release of the new Tenacious D movie. Admission is FREE, along with free drinks and a free raffle for an autographed guitar and tickets to the Tenacious D show at MSG. Check out the flier here. Doors are at 6pm and we're on at 7:50pm; arrive early for guaranteed admission, as Jack and Kyle themselves are rumored to be making an appearance!

CMJ 2006 [HALLOWEEN] SHOWCASE
For this year's CMJ Music Marathon, we'll be helping to kick things off with another opening night showcase, this time on All Hallow's Eve. And not only are we playing on Halloween, but we'll be hitting the stage at midnight, the witching hour itself. After that, things just get crazier, as CMJ continues through Nov. 4, bringing everyone from Noel Gallagher to Borat into town, along with hundreds of bands. If you'll be in NYC for the event, catch up on your sleep now — you're going to need it.

STRANDED IN STEREO
Our new single, "All Together Now," is featured on Volume 4 of the excellent Stranded in Stereo compilation, and you can get a copy completely free! Past volumes have included tracks from The Subways, The Sounds, The Duke Spirit, My Morning Jacket, Gomez, Mew, and lots of others, and there's going to be more great stuff on this one. The disc even comes with a free DVD of music videos, and all you have to do to get it is visit the Stranded in Stereo site and enter your address. CDs will ship in late October. Click here to get yours!

NEMO FESTIVAL SHOWCASE
The GoStation is heading back to Boston on Sept. 28 for an exclusive opening night showcase at the NEMO Music Festival. Presented by ASCAP and The Planetary Group, the show takes places at the Middle East Upstairs, and is headlined by New York's own Diamond Nights. This year's NEMO fest runs from Sept. 28-30 and includes performances from Be Your Own Pet, Joseph Arthur, Ladytron, CSS, Dr. Octagon, and many more, at venues all around the Boston area. For all the details, check out the festival website.

NEW SINGLE OUT NOW
"All Together Now," the lead single from our upcoming debut album, is now available for download on iTunes, courtesy of Invisible DJ Records. The track features on the very first release from the label, Invisible DJ Compilation One. The song will also be included on the upcoming CMJ edition of Stranded in Stereo, and should be popping up all over the place in the near future. To download the single from iTunes today, click here.

OUT OF THE BOX
Q104.3 DJ Jonathan Clarke featured a track from The GoStation's upcoming debut album on his show, "Out of the Box," on Sunday
July 9. "All Together Now" was spun along with songs from Starsailor, Coldplay, The Raconteurs, and a bunch of other acts we were more than happy to share the air with. You can listen to the show every Sunday at 9pm EST, either on-air in the NYC area, or online.

DEBUT ALBUM PREVIEW
The mixing process is done, and we've finally put the finishing touches on our new recordings! The five completed tracks are set to feature on The GoStation's debut album, due out in 2007 — but since we know you don't want to wait that long to hear them, we're offering a sneak preview! Every Monday from June 5 through July 3, we'll be putting a brand new track up on our MySpace page. Each song will be available for free download, but will be up for one week only — so check back regularly, and get them while you can!

NME UNSIGNED COMPETITION
The GoStation is currently in the running for the title of most popular unsigned band on NME.com, and we need your help to come out on top. All you have to do is visit our page on the site here, then register and vote. (Be sure to leave a comment after you vote, or your vote won't go through.) Please spread the word to others, too. The competition is pretty fierce, so every vote counts!

LISTEN LIVE, LISTEN LATER
For those who aren't able to catch our live performance on KEXP, the station is providing a number of other ways to hear the GoStation set/interview. Our appearance will broadcast live on Tuesday, May 16 at 12 noon EST, online globally at kexp.org, and on the radio at 90.3 FM in Seattle. Afterwards, the whole program will be available in the station's streaming archive for two weeks. The station also plans to offer some of the NYC performances as podcasts — speaking of which, "Wandering Away" will be featured on KEXP's "Song of the Day" podcast this Thursday, May 18! Subscribe to the podcasts here.

KEXP ON-AIR PERFORMANCE
The GoStation has been confirmed to perform live on-air on KEXP, during the influential Seattle station's week of remote broadcasting from NYC in May. Our performance will take place Tuesday, May 16 at noon EST, and listeners around the world can tune in at kexp.org. (Seattle-area fans can also listen in at 90.3 FM.) There will be a very limited number of spots for fans in the New York area to attend this event, so if you're interested in being in the studio audience, reserve your free spot by clicking here. Act quickly, as it will fill up fast!

SATELLITE OF LOVE
XM Satellite Radio host Billy Zero featured The GoStation on his show, The R.A.D.A.R. Report, on April 6. The program, which spotlights the most notable unsigned artists of the week, included a spin of "C'mon," the lead track off the Quiet Zone EP. Big thanks go out to Billy and the XM team for their support! If you're an XM Radio subscriber, be sure to check out the show every Thursday at 9pm EST (with repeats Sundays at 9pm).

BACK TO THE STUDIO
Work on the debut full-length album from The GoStation is officially kicking off on March 26, as the band heads back into the studio with producer Bill Racine. We're planning to get the first half of the record done during these sessions, with additional recording to take place later this year. Songs slated for recording this time around include "All Together Now," "When I'm Gone," "Twin Six," "Battle Lines," "Not Enough" and "Next In Line." Check back soon for updates on the album, plus more news — including an upcoming live on-air performance on KEXP!

FEBRUARY UPDATE
The February 7 show at Rothko was a great time for all involved. For those who missed it, though, there's a wrap-up at the Crackers United site, complete with some really sweet photos from the evening. Check out why their FRICTION parties are set to be the next big night in NYC! Meanwhile, we're currently in demo mode for our upcoming new studio sessions, which are set to kick off in late March. Producer extraordinaire Bill Racine (the man behind the majority of the Quiet Zone EP) is back on board, so we can't wait to see what kind of sonic bliss we come up with this time around.

FEEL THE FRICTION
The GoStation's return to Shindig! on Jan. 25 was more fun than we could have hoped. If only the night hadn't been shut down early by the police before the Mooney Suzuki could play, it would have been perfect. Thanks to all who made it out! Don't rest on your laurels now, though, because the next big event is coming right up. On Feb. 7, the band is performing at the fabulous FRICTION night at Rothko, presented by the equally fabulous online collective Crackers United. Check out what they had to say about us here, and for more details on the show, click here.

ALL ABOARD FOR 2006
It's a new year, and we're taking it to heart — with a new lineup, new shows, and more new material than we know what to do with. Most importantly, The GoStation is happy to announce the addition of drummer Justin Aaronson (formerly of Surefire) and guitarist Erik Nyquist to our newly expanded ranks. They'll be joining us as we rocket ahead into 2006, starting with a return performance at the gloriously decadent Shindig! party on Jan. 25, followed by our first big show of the year at Rothko on Feb. 7. We'll also be heading back into the studio early in the year to begin work on our debut full-length album, so keep your ears out for hints of what's to come!
